When Emilia first emailed me about shooting her wedding, I knew this was going to a good one. Because Matt and Emilia live in NYC it was a month or so before we could meet in person, but by that time…all of my friends knew who this couple was. They became known as the NY couple. My friends would ask each time they saw me, “have you met with the NY couple yet?” That is how excited I was!!
This was one of my favorite weddings yet, and I am so honored to have been Matt and Emilia’s photographer! They are unbelievably sweet and kind to one another, and hearing stories about them from friends and family that day just confirmed all the wonderful things I knew about them! Beware…this is a big post!
The whole shebang happened at the beautiful Virginia Center for Architecture…which is fitting because Emilia’s father is an architect!
Emilia’s gorgeous dress is from Bella Rosa…
I loved loved loved their rings!

Shoes from J.Crew…

The parlor room where the girls got ready had this giant, glorious mirror. Perfect for getting ready and pretty light for me!

Emilia’s gorgeous hair was done by Red Salon Organics.

Gahhh! Emilia you are so gorgeous!

The first look. Matt was mesmerized by Emilia!
Then we walked around the block for some portraits…

I had to speak to a vendor about how the flow of the ceremony was going to go…as I was walking back this is what I saw. So dang adorable! I just loved watching them interact and love on one another. Made my job so easy and enjoyable!

Yes, the focus is soft, but I love this next image anyhow…

Details! Emilia loves the color gray and wanted pops of pinks, yellows, and greens. So perfect.

Matt and Emilia met working for a publishing house, so the books were a necessity.

The Virginia Center for Architecture is one gorgeous venue…

Time to get married!
Bridesmaids dresses also from J.Crew…

Fantastic Mr. Fox cake topper! I loved the quirk of it, totally my style! Cake is from Richmond’s beloved Ukrop’s Bakery.

Mini pies are from Sweetest Thing Bakery. Catering was done by White House Catering, one of the absolute best in Richmond! No lie!

A bridesmaid’s request…
We snuck up to the roof right before the reception started to take advantage of that sun!

Loved these two! And that is my trusty second shooter Stephanie Yonce! First time having a second shooter, it was great!

Congratulations Matt & Emilia! November isn’t too long to wait for Hawaii!
