The Hunt.

by Lauryn on April 5, 2010 in Personal

I was sent on a scavenger hunt the other day by Jared.  Im not very patient with those, especially when the clues are pretty difficult.

1. Thy first clue doth lay in a fruit

Dare not smash it to find my loot

Stiller nor Wilson had it right

At the end of that movie, what a fright!

2.  Find hither the place that hid your ring

Under lock and key only I could bring

You searched and searched to no avail

Did not know where twas till I told tale!

3. Qlatiuy Tmie

Wdors of atoamififn

Gtifs

Atcs of siresce

Pacisyhl Tucoh

4. Find now an unpublished book or two

Bout a loving brotherhood through and through

They hoarded, collected night and day

Till the good Lord saw fit to take breath away

5.  Indeed! you search for a colorful book

Yet as of now, you’ve had no look

Go to the mantle, somethings there

Thy find clue rests in dark lair

6. (This one was in Blackberry code.  All the letters on BB’s have a symbol.  I will save you the frustration I endured…)

And here lies your final clue

Cracking it must have made you blue

Once task is complete, shall be easy to see

That you gift sleeps soundly, justly, with me

Now…what did I find a few hours later (Im not joking, I gave up several times.)

See the little red areas beside my eyes?  That’s from rubbing them out of frustration.  And wiping tears of relief when I finally figured it all out.  Its no lie that I am a huge book nerd.  I have been known to read while at a live concert, at dinner with friends, and stay up until I finish the final line.  Harry Potter, anyone?  These two books are now crossed off a looooooong list of classics that I plan on owning one day.  How awesome is my husband?!

Looks like I have an awesome grandson! Never knew it was a poet. I have learned of a website where can swap paperback books free. You just post what you have that you want to swap. Someone who wants it lets you know, you mail it to them and when they receive it you get a credit. And you can request a book them from someone else. My friend in NC is doing it. I need to learn more about it before I join it. I usually just donate my read books to the library to sell in their spring sale to make money for the library.
