I saw this list of Resolves over on Dinner: A Love Story, and loved it. So I thought I would share my personal goals this way.
What I resolve to do more of in 2013:
Read. Rest. Wake up in the morning. Bible reading. Exercise 3 times a week, although this always seems to be on my list, it would be nice to make it a habit this year. Eat Tofu. Be more present, resulting in being more thankful. Dance, and by that I mean awesome dancing with awesome moves. Beef up my Dance Pandora station. Be a more graceFULL person. I can be so judgemental, I need to be more full of Grace because God has been full of Grace towards me. Encourage Jared more. Shower.
What I resolve to do less of:
Office work late into the evening (which I am doing RIGHT NOW.) Go to bed at midnight. Pick at the skin around my nails, worst habit I have ever formed. Spend pointless time on Facebook. Not trust God. Make excuses.
What I resolve not to say to my spouse:
“You might want to try it like this instead…” I am so bossy.
What I resolve to eat less of:
Hash browns from McDonalds.
What I resolve to learn how to cook:
Hash browns from McDonalds.
What I resolve to eat more of:
Spinach. Fruit. Tofu. Wine.
What non-required reading I resolve to attend to:
See this post. And, maybe the New York Times.
What I resolve to convince my spouse to read:
My mind.
Restaurant I want to try:
Portico. Saison. Johnson Southern. The Blue Goat. Magpie. Toast. Jerusalem.
Restaurant I want to return to:
Proper Pie. Roosevelt. Burger Bach. Stella’s. Nile.
I resolve to finally try:
Swimming? The NYT Crossword. Cleaning on a regular basis. The Dougie. Getting up on time.
I resolve to spend less money on:
McDonalds Hash browns.
I resolve to get Zen about:
The way Jared does dishes. At least they are clean.
What I resolve to accomplish professionally:
Shoot more interesting Off Camera Light. Stay Employed. Be featured in print. Start shooting families and be awesome at it.
Now, tell me some of yours!! I want to hear ‘em!

have you ever tried McDonald’s hash browns? because i didn’t see it in your list and thought i would recommend them.
and i like your resolve to shower more. ha! love this list and you!
This is amazing! i love it I think I might make one of these list with my husband! I feel like we could keep each other accountable with this
Happy Resolving!
this is such a cool way to set goals. i really like this. so unique and witty. you’re really funny and it shows in your writing. thanks for putting a smile on my face! may you accomplish all of your goals this year! and my weakness from mcdonald’s (besides their sweet tea) is the their ham biscuits! YUM! i need to resolve to eat less of those haha.
i LOVE this. i might have to do it on my blog at some point, toooo….
also, the shower resolution made me laugh. i just love you.
your resolve about the McDonalds hashbrowns made me laugh! I learned how to cook them! There are hashbrown patties in the freezer section and if you put a tablespoon of veggie oil in a pan and stick the hashbrown in there about 4 minutes on each side (or until golden brown) then degrease in a papertowel its BASICALLY the same thing! Good luck with all of your resolves!
This post had me laughing out loud! I love that you would like to stop eating hashbrowns from McDonald’s (but they are sooo good)! And I love that you are going to master the Dougie! Can’t wait to see.
Great post, Lauren! I literally LOL’d about the hashbrowns
I would love to have that recipe! Ha. Going to bed early is a key goal for me, too. Sleep enables me to make so many other good things happen, and a lack of sleep triggers some other bad habits for me. But, so far so good this year!
The Dougie. Yes. I’ll learn that one with you
OH MY GOSH- someone else that is a cuticle picker hahaha. By FAR my worst habit- it drives Jeremy crazy and I feel so bad but I do it so unconsciously! Definitely a resolve of mine for 2013!
This is way cool! I’m so doing this.
Hope you don’t mind! I’ll link to you, of course.
