Just another little gem I found while editing Andrea and John’s wedding.

Oh my goodness, it has been unbelievably hot in Virginia this year!  A friend told me yesterday that June was the hottest month on record…EVER.  Uhhh?  June was the hottest month?  We still have three full months of summer left, that does not sound very promising!  So I made myself some lemon water.  It is so refreshing to me.  I tried cucumber water once.  It was disgusting.  I poured it out, haha.  Do you like cucumber water?  I have also been having lovely iced mint tea with my best friend Nikki lately.  Equally refreshing as the lemon water.

So, what have you been doing to beat the heat so far?  Hibernating inside?  Just dealing with it?

Let me tell you, these girls are awesome!! We got up sooo early because Cierra is a self proclaimed morning person.  :-) I wish I was too!!  Well, the light was super beautiful.  And it was a great way to start my day.  Cierra said her parents always say they dont have enough pictures of her, so she wanted to get some for them.  How sweet is that?!  And she brought along Jessica, one of her best friends because she wanted some pictures with her too.  Basically Cierra is super sweet!! Thank you both for walking around in the heat with me!!

Hey Friends!!

I have been getting alot of feedback about the contact form.  There have been some issues!  Please know that I have gotten each of your messages (I think!) I just happen to get them about 10 times!  I have contacted my server support to see if there is anything they can do to help and if they cant, I will find someone who can.  I wanted to let you know that I know about the issue and I am taking care of it.  Thanks for you patience!

P.S.  I have been wanting to make custom banners for my brides for months now, and this is the first one! John and Andrea’s wedding was beautifully simple and elegant.  I made the banner to match that.  So!  If you are an upcoming bride of mine, get stoked for your custom banner!  And this means you have to tell me all about your wedding So I can make the right kind for you!

I just figured out how to do this:

Yes, I mean put two pictures next to one another and make them one image.  Phew!  Let me tell you, I have had the hardest time with it.  I have tried watching tutorials and even getting friends to show me over skype.  I am the WORST computer person!!  Sometimes people ask me if I can fix this and that for them in Photoshop, well, I cant.  Haha! I truly do very little in Photoshop.  I know how to play an action and vary the percentage for those of you out there who know about PS.  I don’t even understand the brushes!!

Anway, I have been dying to learn how to do this because, in case you have not noticed….I really like vertical pictures as opposed to horizontals.  I dont know why.  I just see things better that way.  Mmhmm, I love me a vertical image!

So there you go.  I learned something super awesome (yeah I know Im a freak!) and you got to see some more of Cierra! Win!

Meet Dougie, the owl.

I went to the Krider’s house on an early cloudy morning to take some more pictures of Asher and their family.  Asher was in the best mood!  He was watching me through the front window of their house when I pulled up and was waving to me out that same window when I left.  We had a great time, and Im sure you can see Asher has such a sweet spirit and beautiful eyes.  Thank you Krider’s!!!

Ryan and Jared, my husband, have been best mates since middle school.  And you know you have a good friend when they stick with you through the incredibly awkward years of middle school.  I think most of Jared’s young memories are with Ryan.  Some of the stories include trying to transform a 80′s Chevy Nova into a racing car by attaching cardboard to make spoilers, rims and hood scoops, or making mock Blair Witch movies while using Jared’s younger sister as an extra.  She was not aware that she was in the movie (scaring her needed to look real!)  Needless to say, Mom was not impressed.  Not to mention countless bike rides, jam sessions, and late night talks.  Schyler is yin to Ryan’s yang.  She is on the short side while Ryan is very tall.  Schyler is sweet where Ryan is sarcastic.  Basically they are a great fit!  Jared and I are both really excited and honored to be apart of Ryan and Schyler’s wedding in August.  We are hoping for an overcast day!

I have to preface the pictures by telling you Schyler has GREAT legs!!  I am not afraid to say Im jealous!

They are great dippers! I can’t wait for their wedding day to have them do this!

They really wanted this session to feel like Richmond.  Thankfully the people running the canal boat let us take a few on the boat!  They are some of my favorites.  I asked them to place their foreheads together in this picture.  And you cannot even tell they didn’t really want to.  Because it was SO HOT.  We were all drippppping with sweat.  You wouldnt want to touch anyone’s sweaty forehead either!

I know the last few all are similar-but the light was sooooo gorgeous I couldnt stop myself!

I loved Schyler’s dress!  It was such a great color source.  I normally like alot of black and white images, but the color in her dress was so perfect I couldn’t cover it up!
