A Harvest.
April 25, 2010A Pretty.
April 24, 2010I know most Richmonders have been to Maymont and know how beautiful it is, but I wanted to share this. Some things in my life are not going as planned and its hard on my heart. I have so much to be thankful for, as Im sure most of you do as well. But when something we were counting on doesn’t go as planned…its hard. Its even hard to step back and realize that. I thought that God had handed me something and I ran with it. I made plans, dreams, goals. I thought it through as much as you can without knowing the future. I prayed for it all the time. And now the plan…its not where it “should” be. Does that ever happen to you? You feel like God gave you something and then it doesn’t pan out the way you thought it would. Does that mean it wasn’t God after all? Or does that mean to be patient, our timing is not His timing? I’m honestly really confused about what to do. And as many of you know, because I talk about it all the time, patience isnt easy for me. So I’m not sure if I should try to be patient and wait and see, or just realize that what I thought God had for me, was just me wanting it to be there. Does that make sense?
Office Peek!
April 23, 2010Those are two little detail shots, there is alot more to see for sure! The fabric is Heather Bailey, this is the link. I had planned on hemming the fabric with that no sew hem tape, but it was terrible. I thought it was going to be so easy and go so quickly in comparison to sewing. Well, I was wrong. But thankfully the fabric is okay without a hem so I cut super straight lines and hung them up on little clip rings. The lamp is a thrift store find that I spray painted and the chair is Ikea. I got the magazine basket from Target.
I would show it all to you if it was finished. I have a beautiful calendar to put up-found it on Etsy for $5 clams. I was so happy. Shelves to install, my inspiration wall to put together, a pillow coming, a rug coming and I still need to paint my computer chair. But it already feels so wonderful because of those curtains. I paid about $60 for fabric. The budget for the entire office “redo” is $300. Oh! And I am getting a plant.
What do you think?
A Weekend.
April 20, 2010
Yep, this is what we do on the weekends. I know you were wondering.
We like to have dance parties next to our growing garden, take pictures, and then scroll through the images really fast and laugh at ourselves. We are so much fun. So, that’s a peek. You wanted to see a picture of me dancing? No sorry, they got deleted!
P.S. Our office is almost done!
this is love.
April 18, 2010Going back.
April 17, 2010Yes friends, that is my transcript from VCU. If you squint and look real close you may even be able to see some of my grades. Don’t worry-the bad ones are on the second page. The second page is a little bit…interesting for me to see. It’s exactly as I expected, which sucks. I will just say that I pretty much failed every class. Except two. I stopped caring and then stopped going to class. I can laugh about it a little, but really? It sucks that I was like that. However, I am going back! This fall I will go to J Sarg-half the price. Then in the spring semester, hopefully transfer to VCU. I have my whole major to finish, so it will take a couple years of part time schooling to graduate.
But I do care again. And that’s what I was waiting for. Its been a year and a half of not caring and having no desire to go back. I knew I couldn’t go back until I cared again. Because I LOVE LOVE LOVE school. Not kidding. I love going to class and studying and reading and getting an awesome GPA. Please see the first page of my transcript to verify this. So I knew one day I would care again. One day that urge would return and then I could go back. It happened the other day at my job. I just had this thought that I had to finish. I had to. I sent in my little check with the request form and I will be enrolled this fall. All I can say is, YAY!
Sweet Feet.
April 9, 2010An Office.
April 7, 2010I pretend to be a very organized person. And I really think I would be if I had the proper tools. You know…bins, cups, files, etc. Without these key tools, you kind of just have stacks everywhere right? Well that is certainly what you would see if you looked at my workspace right now. Scrap paper everywhere, and crudely opened box of new DVD’s ready for the burning, my camera haphazardly sitting on the edge only attached by the computer cord, a random plastic bag. I could go on and on. And because I like to pretend Im super organized and have good style: I am making myself an office. Its going to be so cute. Here’s a peek.
Here’s a tad more to peek at…
My goal is to have it finished by May 1st. I have even decided that the very last thing I’m going to do to officially finish it is to buy a bunch of pink tulips and place them on my desk. That will be the finishing touch. That will make if complete. I even went and got a business license today. I was so worried it was going to be one of those things that you go to one person and they tell you to do this, then you go to someone else and they tell you something different. And everyone is going to be in a foul mood, grunting at you. But I must say, City Hall-you surprised me. Every person was so nice and chatty. And it only took one hour. It was lovely. So anyway, thats a peek at my new office. I will show you when its all done. And who knows, maybe I will manage to keep it looking pretty.
The Hunt.
April 5, 2010I was sent on a scavenger hunt the other day by Jared. Im not very patient with those, especially when the clues are pretty difficult.
1. Thy first clue doth lay in a fruit
Dare not smash it to find my loot
Stiller nor Wilson had it right
At the end of that movie, what a fright!
2. Find hither the place that hid your ring
Under lock and key only I could bring
You searched and searched to no avail
Did not know where twas till I told tale!
3. Qlatiuy Tmie
Wdors of atoamififn
Gtifs
Atcs of siresce
Pacisyhl Tucoh
4. Find now an unpublished book or two
Bout a loving brotherhood through and through
They hoarded, collected night and day
Till the good Lord saw fit to take breath away
5. Indeed! you search for a colorful book
Yet as of now, you’ve had no look
Go to the mantle, somethings there
Thy find clue rests in dark lair
6. (This one was in Blackberry code. All the letters on BB’s have a symbol. I will save you the frustration I endured…)
And here lies your final clue
Cracking it must have made you blue
Once task is complete, shall be easy to see
That you gift sleeps soundly, justly, with me
Now…what did I find a few hours later (Im not joking, I gave up several times.)
See the little red areas beside my eyes? That’s from rubbing them out of frustration. And wiping tears of relief when I finally figured it all out. Its no lie that I am a huge book nerd. I have been known to read while at a live concert, at dinner with friends, and stay up until I finish the final line. Harry Potter, anyone? These two books are now crossed off a looooooong list of classics that I plan on owning one day. How awesome is my husband?!
Robbie & Shannon
April 1, 2010I dont know what it is about this image…but it makes me so happy.
These cute little lovebirds are engaged. They have been dating 8 years, since sophomore year of high school. So, when we all heard the news, it is an understatement to say we were stoked. Robbie and Jared have been bff for about the same amount of time. Its really special for one of Jared’s best friends to be getting married, you know? We all went to dinner after their session and while we couldnt hear each other very well, we were laughing well into the night. Little side note: do you not love Shannon’s dress?!
Anyway, I love you guys so much and I cannot wait for 09-25-10!!
