Aimee’s Bridals!

August 29, 2010

Well, Im not really going to show you those.  But isnt her ring gorgeous?  I love it, alot. Aimee and Daniel are getting married later this month and on Saturday morning we did her bridal session.  She is just gorgeous, I can’t wait to show you!  We had some beautiful morning light :-)

The most hilarious part of the whole session was probably me.  My hair was getting super frizzy because it was warm and I was running all over and sweating like a pig.  And then…something interesting happened.  I climbed up a little stone wall.  I was wearing jeans Ive had for about 5 years.  They fit me pretty good.  I have curvy hips, so jeans that are tight in that area are normally loose around my waist and legs.  Basically they restrict my flexibility.  Are you seeing where this is going?  I step up on the wall and as Im hoisting my self up, my jeans split.  Like big time. Right below my butt cheek.  I instantly froze.  And started laughing.  I hopped off the wall and showed Aimee, her mom, and her Mom’s friend by bending over in front of them so they could see the wide expanse of the rip.  Ohhhhhh it was awesome.  So, with the frizzing hair and ripped jeans I looked super professional the rest of the session and morning.  Ha!  Thank you guys for laughing with me (and probably at me!)  Oh and here is a little look at that rip…

Arent they beautiful? I really dont know what else to say. I think the images speak for themselves. This wedding was truly about family, celebration, and big love. Nothing else mattered. It was wonderful to be apart of it. One little cute and awesome tidbit: Sandy and Lloyd met online and live within minutes of one another! Thank you both for trusting me. Im honored!

Congratulations!

John and Andrea: Married!!

August 12, 2010

John and Andrea were married at Second Baptist Church in the west end and had their reception at Artworks.

I really love these two images.  John and Andrea had a first look, where you see one another before the ceremony.   I love the slight anticipation in Andrea’s face, but slow smile, and her joy in the next image.  First looks are so amazing.  I had one for my wedding and there were so many benefits.  You get pictures like this.  Pure joy.  Anticipation.  And a huge plus-you can touch each other.  When you see one another for the first time on your wedding day, all you want to do is touch your loved ones face.  Im serious.  You just want to reach out and grab their hand.   And seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony, well, it makes it a little harder to be natural.  So if you are considering having a first look…I say go for it!! Your friends and family will get over it :-)

There were LOTS of laughs at this reception!

They had some interesting art on the walls that day!  Dirty underwear ;-)

Oh man, and the dancing!!

Something that really set this wedding apart was that John and Andrea love and serve the Lord. If you cant tell by these pictures John and Andrea have wonderful friends and family that love, support, and pray for them. What a great gift! The blessing Andrea’s father gave at the reception was so beautiful. He encouraged them to continue to lean on the Lord.

Mr. and Mrs. Hampson, I hope Antigua was gorgeous! Congratulations to you both!!

You can view the entire event and order prints here.

P.S.  I have been wanting to make custom banners for my brides for months now, and this is the first one! John and Andrea’s wedding was beautifully simple and elegant.  I made the banner to match that.  So!  If you are an upcoming bride of mine, get stoked for your custom banner!  And this means you have to tell me all about your wedding :-) So I can make the right kind for you!

2nd Second Shooting!

June 14, 2010

This time is was for the beautiful, Ms. Katie Stoops!!  Katie is so funny!  I had such a great night with her at the Poe Museum and Havana 59.  I really have enjoyed second shooting for lots of different photographers because every photographer does things differently.  I see things that I never would have thought of on my own and things that aren’t for me.  I learn a ton!

Nichole and Derk’s wedding was so relaxed and pretty!  They are both really funny and have such a great energy together.  And it doesn’t hurt that they are both gorgeous. Don’t believe me?  Just look….

Katie!!!!!! Isn’t she cute?

Second Shooting.

June 12, 2010

Oh man! I just loved this wedding! I mean, the ceremony was on an island-how much better can that get??  I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot with the amazingly talented, Katelyn James. Be sure to check out her post, here. She is just so great, and was our wedding photographer.

Rochelle and David’s wedding was filled with love.  For the Lord, for each other, and their family.  They had two worship songs during the ceremony.  I was just standing on the edge of the water watching people raise their hands and truly worship the Lord.  I probably don’t have to tell you that I was crying and singing along as well.  Thank you to Katelyn, Rochelle and David for letting me come along and help document the day!  It was such an honor!

Love you Katelyn!!

Sneak Peek!

June 9, 2010

Second sneak peek in one week! This wedding was another amazing experience.  I was a second shooter to the lovely, Katie Stoops.  Katie was so much fun to work with!  We were racing the rain for these portraits and I have a fun image of Katie photographing the bride and groom and covering herself with an umbrella :-) Ill be sure to add that to the full post!  Make sure you check out Katie’s sneak peek here.

A peek!

This wedding was one of the best experiences I have had by far!  I was able to second shoot for Katelyn James.  She was our wedding photographer and someone who really inspired me to get back into photography.  If you have the chance to work with her-DO IT! She is unbelievably kind and patient with everyone, God has really blessed me with her friendship.  And this wedding!  It was so unique.  I will tell you more about it in the full post….for now-enjoy that beautiful bouquet!
