Here it is friends, the final post of 25 before 25 because on September 22, 2012 I officially turned a quater century old!
25 Things:
- Knit a scarf.
- Fly in a plane.
- Take a road trip.
Retry gardening. Our backyard plants are going strong!- Shoot a personal photography series.
- Run a 5k.
- Read 25 books.
Try 25 new recipes, 5 of them baked goods. So proud of myself for this one!- Retry bread making.
Ride on a train. For my Birthday, Jared and I took the Train to DC and spent the day there!Go on a cruise!Blog posts here!- Visit a new state.
Start a journal, and keep it up.Started a gifts journal after reading One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.- Repaint all the trim in the house. Didn’t get the the upstairs, but did finish the entire downstairs! Painting trim is so tedious!
- Repaint all rooms in the house, except the office. Did the entire downstairs… maybe we can finish the upstairs by 26.
Paint front and back door RED.Our doors are officially painted Benjamin Moore’s Heritage Red!- Hang Jared’s hammock.
- Pay off CC’s
and Scion.Going full time kind of changed our financial goals. We have paid off all CC’s but one, and that will be done by the fall of next year! - Finish bedroom redo.
Buy a new swimsuit.Bought those babies for the cruise!Create some DIY art for theBedroom andKitchen.Kitchen post coming soon!Write letters to family members I always write to, but have neglected this year.- Create a habit of walking 3x a week.
- Read the Old Testament.
Begin a true prayer life. This one is highly personal, but I feel good about where I am.
So, I didn’t finish them all. Womp. I think the thing I regret most is not reading more. Number 7 and Number 24 were affected by that, so that is a bummer. I also do wish we could have gotten the house painted, but I didnt realize what an undertaking it was. Im happy with how much we got done, thanks in large part to Jared’s parents helping! I think running a 5k, and knitting a scarf were unrealistic goals… I hate running and I have tried to love knitting. You know how you see other people love things and do them with gusto and you think you should too? Totally guilty of that with those two items! I will ride in a plane one day though. When the funds and destination are just right, I know I will be up in the air! I dont have any excuse for the photography series goal… I just didnt put any effort into it. I think its because Im scared to, but thats another blog post for another day.
So that’s that! I was going to share all the new recipes I tried, but they were on the Notes App on my phone and one day they were all gone. Even syncing my phone didn’t help. I can remember a few, but definitely not all of them. Oh, and of course our kitchen. Its really pretty, there are just two small projects left and then it will 100% complete!
Stay tuned!
Totally random picture of Chief, but it makes me giggle.

Lauryn, do you have a bread machine? I have the easiest bread recipe, Amish White Bread, that I will send you. You can make it without a bread machine, but the machine just makes it a whole lot easier. I make it a couple times a week. It’s all the bread we eat. And, no, Jared, it is not the sour dough bread I used to make.
@Grandma Galloway Yeah, I have used a bread machine before. I actually want to make bread by hand! Thanks for thinking of me though!
